Dr. Maliha Mannan is a public health communicator and an entrepreneur. She is the Executive Editor of The Coronal and is a columnist in the daily Dhaka Tribune and other policy related portals. Her forte is writing on topical health issues and data-driven solutions for healthcare. She is also the Founder and Managing Director of Organikare Limited- a personal health, hygiene, and wellness brand that preserves the goodness of natural elements of herbs in all their products.
In a career spanning 20 years, she has worked in the corporate business house, healthcare-sector, and development sector. She completed her MBBS from Bangladesh Medical College in 2000 and received post graduate training in Cardiology from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases the same year. In 2003 she set up Organikare Ltd, an herbal product manufacturing company. Managing the business inspired her to pursue an MBA from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh in 2010. In 2016, she took up an additional administrative role in Evercare Hospital where she initiated and supervised the admissions counseling department. This led her to acquire another Master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership from Brown University in 2020. She worked as a National Consultant in Aspire to Innovate (a2i)/ UNDP to develop strategies from health data in 2020, covering the first year of Covid. As a senior fellow at Youth Policy Forum (YPF), she is engaged with youth activities and has co-authored a six-part series on climate change and its impact with the members of YPF. She is the Vice President of SAARC Business Council Bangladesh of Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Her strength is her enthusiasm in continuous learning which enables her to think of impactful solutions in healthcare for the millions of Bangladeshis.
